SUSTAINABILITY
At BRAU, we strive to reduce our environmental impact by choosing sustainable fabrics such as organic cotton and recycled materials for our products. 90% of our collections are sustainable, and we are committed to making 100% of them sustainable within the next year.
Organic cotton is grown without the use of fertilizers, pesticides, or chemicals, which helps protect local ecosystems and benefits farmers. This type of cotton is also more efficient in water usage, improves soil quality, and prevents soil erosion. Unlike clothing treated with harmful chemicals, organic cotton garments do not transfer substances like formaldehyde, ammonia, or softeners to the skin, making them a much safer option.
The use of sustainable fabrics is crucial, as one of the main contributors to industrial water pollution is textile treatment, which involves more than 800 chemicals. These chemicals are inhaled by agricultural and factory workers, highlighting the importance of choosing more eco-friendly options.
Regarding the production of our garments, all our factories meet high standards of employee safety and well-being, as well as best practices in occupational health, labor rights, environmental protection, and fair compensation. We ensure there is no child labor, forced labor, or precarious working conditions in our factories through a rigorous screening process.
The factories we work with are located in Bogotá and Medellín. We take pride in partnering only with factories that prioritize safe working conditions and the well-being of their employees.
